1. Who is responsible
The controller for personal data processed through this website is Driss Briksine, a freelance software engineer based in Morocco. Contact: driss@briksine.com.
2. Which rules apply
As I'm based in Morocco, this site follows Moroccan Law 09-08 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data. Because I work with clients in the European Union, I also apply the standards of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to visitors from the EU.
3. What I collect and why
Contact form
When you send a brief, I receive your email address, and optionally your name, company, the services you're interested in, budget, timeline and project description. I use this only to reply and to prepare a proposal. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Your brief reaches me by email or through a form-processing service that forwards it to me.
Booking a call
Bookings are handled by Google Calendar appointment schedules, provided by Google. Google receives the name, email address, time slot and any notes you enter, and may set cookies on the booking page. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. See Google's privacy policy.
Hosting
This site is served by a web hosting provider, which processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in order to deliver and secure the site. Legal basis: legitimate interest in operating a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Fonts and scripts from third parties
To display this site, your browser loads fonts from Google Fonts and code libraries from jsDelivr and unpkg. These providers receive your IP address when your browser connects to them. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
What I don't do
No analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies are set by this site. Your light or dark mode choice is stored in your own browser (local storage) and is never sent to me.
4. How long I keep it
Enquiries are kept for up to 24 months after our last contact. If we start working together, related records are kept as long as accounting and tax law requires.
5. Sharing and transfers
I never sell your data. It is shared only with the service providers named above. Some of them process data outside Morocco and the European Economic Area, such as in the United States. For EU visitors, those transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
6. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, or to receive it in a portable format. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email driss@briksine.com and I'll respond within one month.
You can also lodge a complaint with Morocco's data protection authority, the CNDP (Commission Nationale de contrôle de la protection des Données à caractère Personnel), cndp.ma. If you're in the EU, you can contact the data protection authority in your own country instead.
7. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published here with a new date at the top.
